This is Vegas!

This was a great spot!

My weekend in Vegas has been a blast! It’s no place I ever wanted to go, but now that I’m here, its not too bad. The people who live here are great. Food is affordable, if you go to the grocery store, and the mountains are beautiful. I had a good time busking the strip during the day, where spaces are first come, first serve. People clearly dug my playing, and that felt good. However, they have a lottery for performance spaces on Tremont St at night, so I entered the lottery, and got this spot, right across from “The D” Casino with their eight massive disco speaker arrays overhead. It was incredibly loud! People were holding their ears, it was so loud. It was unreal.

I’ve never been to Vegas before so I was completely floored. Other musicians saw my rig and told me, “You need louder amps.” They were both right, and wrong. I needed bigger amps for this gig, but I don’t want this gig. It was fun! I’m glad I did it, and it was, for me, the perfect way to see Vegas. I got to do what I most love to do, and just watch all this madness unfold around me. It was awesome, but it was not a great musical experience, and once was enough.
